Saving your own number in your WhatsApp contact may sound silly but it can be fun as well. I just accidentally came across this thing. Or rather I would say that I discovered it out of the need to send some text messages to my own number so that I can save a copy of those with me. So here are some of the findings I had during this encounter.
As I had saved my number in my Whatsapp Contacts, when I opened that and started writing anything, within a fraction of second I could see the “typing…” message on the top bar. And when I pressed the send button, within milliseconds the message was delivered to me. This delay was remarkably less and surprised me quite a bit. This feature can be used to jot down your ideas which you just wish to keep to yourself. As a practice exercise, this particular article which you are going through right now was written using the same technique. Further, those who are worried about how their DPs or status would appear to others could also benefit from this thing. 🙂
This feature can also be used as a voice recorder, just in case you don’t have an app installed for that and wish to record something instantly but don’t want to send it to someone else. For example you are preparing for your high school speech or wish to record someone’s voice and keep it safe with you only then this feature can come in handy. Also I have found that Whatsapp voice recording has better quality than most of the voice recorders available for windows as well as Android phones!
And yeah, do not try to call on your own number because it will be quite silly, as you will always get a busy tone. Obviously, I tried that thing as well. 😛
So just give it a try and perhaps you will discover some more sweet and simple benefits of this feature. 😊
