It has been almost two months since I first started using the WordPress. And let me tell you frankly, that this is a great piece of software for website development of virtually all sorts. I am already a fan of WordPress now. After successfully setting up this website, without having any prior knowledge of website designing and development, my friend and I are now of the opinion that “ANYONE can set up a website using WordPress.” Here, I have tried to extract, from my own experience, the top 5 reasons as to Why I am so much in love with the WordPress? 🙂
WordPress is Super Easy
First, I think I should tell you that I am not much well-versed with website design and development. But, despite being a novice to this field, I was able to make my website up and running in just 2 to 3 hours. And literally, this was not any extra-ordinary effort from my side, rather this is what WordPress is popular for. WordPress takes care of most of the things itself and provides you an easy to use and simple interface to manage your website. And thus you do not need to know any of those cryptic programming languages to set up a website.
WordPress is FREE!
Setting up a website using a good, professional and presentable theme suiting your particular aesthetics cost absolutely NOTHING. Isn’t it great? This thing is particularly useful for those who are willing to start their own website with a tight budget. There is a superb library of FREE themes available in WordPress which you can easily install and activate for your website.
Plugins make Life Even Easier
One of the most important things which WordPress offers is that, there are a plethora of quality plugins available suiting exactly to your requirements. And most of these plugins are absolutely FREE as well. You just need to browse the plugins library and install and activate that plugin to your website. It would not be an over-statement to say that plugins are one of the biggest players in WordPress’ widespread popularity and huge acceptance.
WordPress Takes Care of Most of the Mechanics of SEO
WordPress not only gives you a super-easy platform for your blogs, rather it also takes care of the one of the most important term, that reverberates time and again among the Web developers, and that is Search Engine Optimization (abbreviated as SEO). Experts say that about 80% of the overall SEO mechanics have been taken into account already by WordPress. But, it is also true that you should also take care of certain things so that your website lands higher in the organic search results.
WordPress is Mobile Friendly
We are standing in 2016 right now. And the internet traffic for Personal Mobile Devices (PMDs) is rising exponentially. It is expected to grow much faster in the coming years. So, if your website is not mobile friendly, then you are surely going to lose considerable traffic from your website. But the good news is that WordPress has amazing support for mobile devices as well. You can select from a gigantic library of responsive themes and can just install them into your website. Don’t worry, installing new themes do not destroy or alter the contents of your website. So you can keep your themes changing as well (though it would not be highly recommended to change the look and feel of your website every now and then).
These are just some of the points from my own short stint with the WordPress. I am enjoying it. Please share your experience with us in the comments section or if you have any suggestions or comments, please feel free to contact us!
